Dear Colleague, It is our pleasure to invite you to take part
in the Second International Siberian Workshop on Advanced Inorganic Fluorides
"INTERSIBFLUORINE-2006" which will be held at Tomsk, Russia
Inorganic fluorinated materials are nowadays currently produced
on an industrial scale and their applications are rapidly extending to many fields
that can be found in everyday life. The conversion of former military applications
of fluorine and fluorides in peaceful targets has opened new horizons, and new
schemes of collaboration have appeared between former USSR countries and Western
countries in the field of military plants conversion processes. Numerous research
areas are concerned besides inorganic fluorine chemistry, which include intensive
basic studies and applications of energy conversion processes, electronics,
opto-electronics, protection of metals, ceramics, textiles, wood, environment
protection by waste removal.
The main part of the Russian fluorine industrial enterprises are located in the Siberian
part of Russian Federation and this was one of the reasons for choosing in 2003 Novosibirsk
Scientific Centre (Novosibirsk Academy Town) as the location of the First International Siberian Workshop ISIF-2003.
The main purpose of the 2nd ISIF-2006 Workshop is thus to allow Russian and Former Soviet Union
scientists who had no opportunity to attend the latest meetings on fluorine chemistry to
participate in discussions with University and Industry specialists coming from Inorganic
Fluorine Groups worldwide and to get up-to-date information on both fundamental and
technological aspects of these fields. On the other hand, scientists coming from Universities
and Industry Research Centres worldwide will be able to realize the achievements obtained
by the main Siberian scientists - from new elaboration routes to functional fluorinated materials.
We are confident that the special soul atmosphere of the Ancient Tomsk University Centre will help us to achieve these goals on both scientific and social levels. ISIF-2006 Workshop
Location The Second International Siberian Workshop on Advanced Fluorides will be held
from 18 June to 23 June 2006 in Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia, which is one of the oldest educational and scientific Siberian centers for international science, educational
trade, and high-tech industries. Located closely to geographical centre of Russia, Tomsk
is a very active city, built more than 400 years ago on the beaches of the Tom river.
It is also important to point out that Tomsk is one of ecologically pure cities in Russia,
having at the same time the most powerful assembly production of the Siberian group
of Chemical Enterprises for improved and safe nuclear energy.
Scientific Program of ISIF-2006 :
The scientific programme will be settled by the Scientific Advisory Board, in connection with ISIF-2006 International Organizing Committee. Contributions on all aspects of inorganic fluorine chemistry and technology will be welcome.
